When it seemed like all the work would never end Erica finally cast off her mooring line (following a minor last minute mechanical problem) and headed out of the Manly Boat Harbour near Brisbane, headed for Lucinda Bay on Moreton Island. That evening we rugged up ready for our night sail - 90 nautical miles up the coast to Fraser Island, only to encounter a cruise ship setting out on its sunset dinner schedule. Our arrival at Inskip Point south of Fraser Island heralded the start of 24 hours of fairly constant rain. This is cruising!! The sail up the Great Sandy Strait inside Fraser Island to Garry's anchorage, a popular spot, was great and our friends on Rose were there ready to welcome us.
